4 more years? Or many more?

Hussein Obama was re-elected with 303 electoral votes against 206 for Mitt Romney

Those who weren’t waving American flags during the political rallies have won.”

Conservative pundits will undoubtedly and deftly point out the Romney campaign’s strategic missteps. They’ll reminisce on how rare Obama bumper stickers were. And how few yard signs were to be seen. They’ll talk about Obama rallies being empty, and Romney’s being packed. They’ll say he missed several opportunities. Conservative journalists will insist that the media got Obama elected. Others will recall how Reagan and Bush were also elected against a barrage of negative media.

My own analysis differs. What happened is beyond Obama.”

All the polls – serious and goofy ones included – predicted a tight election.

Tight, really? With skyrocketing gas prices. With the catastrophic management of the Benghazi terrorist attack? With unemployment? With buying power falling? The crisis? The Federal debt doubling up?

Something fundamental has changed in the United States. Something I couldn’t have inferred from reading conservative media, or by talking to my Republican friends. Or my Democratic ones either, for that matter.

This “something” is a change of mentality for a new American generation. White people, Latinos, African Americans – I don’t think Obama is behind that change.

I never thought Obama would be able to change America so profoundly in a mere four years. That he would have been able to divide and pit Americans against one another in such a short time. If he succeeded in doing so, it’s because change had already taken grasp. People’s minds were ready. Change was already afoot, ready to sprout or already sprung and raging.

Half of Americans want to be on welfare. And they want free healthcare, jobs, housing credit, and government-backed mortgages to protect them against default. This half doesn’t reach for the American dream because they don’t believe in it. The American dream belongs to the 1%. And 99% of their trouble is self-inflicted.

The whole moral and ideological revolution of 1968 has come home to roost. And Conservatives stood by idle with eyes closed. They figured Mitt Romney’s amazing qualities and his oratorical talents would knock some sense back into Americans minds and bring their values back. They completely missed the boat. Their spirit and their values are long gone. Half of the American people aspire to welfare.

20 years ago, Obama wouldn’t have stood a chance. But we’re a long way from then. Mitt Romney stood for solid values. Values I believe in and defend. But these values are 40 years too old at a very bad time.

Americans want to take. They want to be given things, taken care of, and assisted. Which of the two candidates was more likely to give them that?

This will be accomplished by taking from the rich and giving to the poor. So what? By unfairly taxing certain people’s income? So what? It will Increase unemployment? Doesn’t matter: the State will take care of us. Buying power eroding? Not a priority.

The State will interfere more and more in people’s lives. Individual liberties will be curtailed. No big deal. Only the chosen few have freedoms anyway.

Mitt Romney opposes Obama’s touted values saying they are not American. So what, said 50% of Americans, values have changed, that’s all.

Because time for revenge has come, as Obama stated a couple days ago. Revenge against inequalities perceived as unfair. Revenge against hard-earned privileges now tagged as undeserved. It matters little if these stemmed from equality and liberty.

The news media contributed to Hussein Obama’s election. That’s a given. But who pushed back against them and who committed? The Leftists’ bet paid off deservedly. Reporters abandoned neutrality and ethics to engage in activist journalism. Sounds familiar to French ears, but is it a new phenomenon? It started during the Vietnam war. Did Conservatives do anything about it? Nope. They just wailed.

University professors, along with ex-activists from 1968 are shaping today’s elites in liberal molds. This new America created Obama, not the other way around. Did Conservatives react? No, they just ignored it.

The new America took its distance from the Founding Fathers to embrace the founding Occupiers.

The new America couldn’t care less about dominating the world or protecting Democracy. She wants to wheel and deal with islamic terrorists. If terror attacks continue? They’ll just be waved off as bad luck, or the work of some “crazy loner”.

The lessons of this failure go way beyond the vote. They would have needed understanding even if Romney had been elected. They sure weren’t learned 4 years ago. Because then analysts were convinced Obama had been elected for the color of his skin.

Will the lessons be learned now? Honestly I doubt it.

They’ll probably reassure themselves as their predictions come to life. They’ll rant against the unemployment they foresaw. And rail against the upcoming negative growth they heralded. And against the inevitable explosion of the spending and public debt they feared. I don’t foresee them questioning their thinking, their bemoaning, their reflexes. I don’t see them doing any sort of self-criticism or failure analysis.

The pace of world change is accelerating. Google, Facebook, and Apple are this world in motion.
