Exclusive: After giant French bank Credit Mutuel closed BDS account two weeks ago, this Monday Paypal cut ties with the illegal anti-Israel BDS movement.

Two weeks ago, Credit Mutuel, a major French bank, was asked by Jerusalem Post’s Benjamin Weinthal why they allowed BDS, who’s activities are illegal in France, to hold an account in one of their Paris branch.

“We cannot give any information about accounts held or not by the clients of the Credit Mutuel,” Frédéric Monot, a spokesman for Credit Mutuel, told the Jerusalem Post.
French Israeli journalist Jean Patrick Grumberg, yours truly, who works for the French-language American website Dreuz.info, followed up and asked Credit Mutuel about their role in enabling BDS.

As a result, giant Credit Mutuel closed BDS account and a source told me that “BDS France used illegal ways to open its account and Credit Mutuel closed it.”

We won a battle not the war: a few days after removing the link to Credit Mutuel, BDS website had replaced it with Paypal.

I contacted Paypal, I told them Credit Mutuel closed La Campagne BDS France account, but it was soon replaced with a Paypal Donate button.

I asked Paypal “what are your plans regarding BDS France French Paypal account, and other Paypal accounts BDS may have opened in other countries?”

Paypal’s answer found it’s way yesterday evening at 11:12 in my inbox:

“PayPal has dedicated significant resources to combat the use of our secure payment platform for illegal activities and works collaboratively with law enforcement agencies around the world to support both the detection of crime and the conviction of criminals.

We have 184 million active customer accounts and regularly screen their activities to make sure they respect the laws, and if they don’t, per our user agreement, we then suspend, limit or close them” told me Daphna Mackover, Head of PR and communications of PayPal in Israel.

A few minutes later, Jerusalem Post Benjamin Weinthal emailed me: “see bds france, I believe the paypal link was cut off for payments.”  Benjamin posted the story today on the Jerusalem Post.

I checked and to my satisfaction and all of us seeking for a lasting peace with Palestinian Arabs, the Paypal donate button returned a “This recipient is currently unable to receive money”:

Thank you Paypal, way to go, way to stop Jewish hatred.
