8 MAI 2013 = 28 IYAR 5773

MAY 8th, 2013 = IYAR 28, 5773

68e ANNIVERSAIRE DE LA VICTOIRE SUR LE NAZISME, MAIS AUSSI YOM YERUSHALAYIM, 46e ANNIVERSAIRE DE LA LIBERATION DE JERUSALEM

BOTH THE 68tn ANNIVERSARY OF THE VICTORY OVER NAZISM, AND JERUSALEM DAY, 46th ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIBERATION OF JERUSALEM

Je n’ai vu pleurer mon père (alav ha Shalom) que trois fois :
In three occasions only did I see my father (may he rest in peace) in tears :

– quand son frère Zalman (alav ha Shalom) est mort ;
– when his brother Zalman (may he rest in peace) passed away ;

– quand il a vu, à la télévision, un reportage sur les jeunes Allemands qui s’interrogeaient sur la Shoah ;
– when he watched a TV report about young Germans learning about the Shoah ;

– quand il a entendu, à la radio, le Rav Shlomo Goren sonnant le shofar près du Mur libéré.
– when he heard on air Rabbi Shlomo Goren (the Israeli Army chief chaplain) sounding shofar at the liberated Temple Wall.

Yom Yerushalayim Sameah !
Happy Jerusalem Day !

Que vos larmes soient, toujours et à jamais, des larmes de joie !
Let your tears be, from now on and forever, tears of joy !
