George Walker Bush was remembered in his 2002 State of the Union Address when he mentioned an axis of evil, which included Iraq, Iran, and North Korea.
Mainstream media gave him a trashing for his political incorrectness. However, North Korea’s brinksmanship is heightening his rightness.
“A man cannot be too careful in the choice of his enemies,” said Oscar Wilde.

However, Wilde’s behavior never matched his wise words. Against the advice of his friends, he initiated a prosecution against Lord Queensberry for libel. He lost the trial, and Queensberry was acquitted. After he left court, a warrant for his arrest was launched on charges of sodomy and gross indecency.
I have neither the pretense of matching Wilde’s bravado in English court nor the righteousness of George Walker Bush when I say that another axis of evil has destroyed our western civilization in 2012.
The disappearance of the Roman Empire in 476 and the fall of Constantinople in 1453 have been unlearned.
With the help of his wife Ariel, American historian Will Durant wrote the Story of Civilization, an eleven-volume set of books.
Four decades (1935-1975) were necessary to write four millions words, or the equivalent of ten thousand pages. Durant was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for general non-fiction in 1968. He is remembered nowadays for his quote. “So I should say that civilizations begin with religion and stoicism, and they end with skepticism and unbelief, and the undisciplined pursuit of individual pleasure. A civilization is born stoic and dies epicurean.”
Four decades after 1975 have been long enough to show Durant’s righteousness. Europe is dying slowly but surely for the same reasons, and the U.S has a temporary reprieve with the election of Donald Trump.
Among European heads of government or states, only two have children, the Spanish and the Belgian. The two leaders of Europe – Angela Merkel for Germany and Emmanuel Macron for France – have a scope that does not exceed their next election or their death. Après moi le deluge! (after me, the flood), said Louis XV of France.
The motto of the 1968 sexual freedom movement that took place in France and Germany was “jouissez sans entrave!” (comes noisily)
That generation did it into a frenzy but it forgot that the first goal of an intercourse is to have children.
In that instance, human beings are no different than other species in the world. The survival of the Western civilization depends on a basic birth rate, which should be above 2.1. Not only do Europeans have not enough children but also they kill them. The abortion ratio for 100 births in France is a staggering 26% rate. This murder rate has not changed since the termination of pregnancy was voted by the French parliament in 1976.
In the meantime, Muslim women have a fertility rate that is twice of European women. If nothing changes, Islam will reign in Western Europe in the mid-century.
Beyond the Iron Curtail, people did not want sexual but political freedom.
The upraising in Czechoslovakia ended with a blood bath when tanks from the Warsaw Pact invaded Prague on August 21, 1968. Whereas American hippies were smoking drugs and were listening pop star Bob Dylan, Czech student Jan Palach set himself on fire in protest of the invasion of his country. His sacrifice was not vain. Czech, Poles, Slovaks, and Hungarian people do not accept migrant quotas imposed by the European Commission, chancellor Angela Merkel, and the United Nations. They do not want any Muslims on their soil. As a consequence of their ban policy, these countries are safe from repeated mass murders that afflict western European countries.
Central Europe has never forgotten the Kerkoporta
The 8,000 besieged soldiers in Constantinople were outnumbered by an army of 150,000 Ottomans led by Sultan Mehmed II. They managed to push back three attacks. The decisive fourth attack was led by Janissaries, an elite legion, whose loyalty to the Sultan was unmatched. On the other side, the citadel with its Theodosian walls was so well designed that it was considered impregnable.
Despite rising casualties after a long siege, Sultan Mehmed II decided to launch his entire army against the Theodosian walls on May 29, 1453.
Orthodox Christians had lost their last hope before that ominous date when a Venetian fleet, which had come to their rescue, was stalled suddenly at the entrance of the harbor when wind ceased. The four galleons, which had outrun a myriad of small vessels, were doomed. The besieged watched helplessly the galleons destroyed by arsonists.
Whereas the last and exhausted soldiers were fighting for their life, Janissaries found a small postern called Kerkoporta, which had been left open accidentally. Fifty of them entered the city, raised their banner, and opened fire on defenders. This stabbing on the back triggered a panic among defenders. Every man for himself! Constantinople was lost.
Kerkoporta is completely ignored in Western Europe
They are hundreds of Kerkoporta that are left open in Italy, but Pope Francis wants always to welcome more migrants and more Muslims. Europeans are never doing enough for that outspoken pope who has been elected in strange circumstances. Was his predecessor Benoit XVI forced to resign? A group of respected Catholic leaders thinks so. (1)
Alike Constantinople, Vatican city is protected by huge walls, and Swiss guards. Pope Francis is acting like Hollywood stars and Silicon Valley moguls who live in entrenched properties with a plethora of bodyguards, but are promoting a relentless campaign in favor of migrants.
In 2012, there was a hidden axis of evil formed by mogul George Soros, former president Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and DNC Chairman John Podesta whose compromising emails were divulged by Wikileaks. Their goal was to replace the conservative pope Benoit XVI by the progressive archbishop of Buenos Aires Jorge Mario Bergoglio. They have succeeded beyond their wildest expectations.

Unlike his sponsors who have kept a dark and low profile, fiery Pope Francis is wishing openly the demise of the Western civilization when he says that is Jesus Christ who urges us to welcome migrants in his weekly General Audience in Saint Peter’s square. (2)

Fascinating and well researched !
Pope Francis is perhaps the last nail in Europe’s coffin, or so it is supposed to be. He is supposedly the pastor leading the flock of sheep to the field.
Guess what! he is leading the flock to the slaughterhouse.
Yes, Helios, you’re absolutely spot on. To me he is yet another jackass in that he is part of the problem. I remain a Catholic simply because I want to keep the Faith. But at the moment, the Holy See is totally empty. Is there anybody at the helm? Of course, loving and forgiving one’s enemy is one of Christianity’s major teachings, which is fine and I will not argue, otherwise the Holy Gospels do not make sense. But this does not mean that we have to commit suicide ! I may be wrong here, but above all I am seeking knowledge and Truth. Your stories are always remarkably filled with wisdom and I look forward to reading your next article. Mr Martoia also contributes incredibly lucid stuff to this site. Brilliant, both of you !
well said Hélios
Pope Francis a communist and his supporters?? O.the muslim, Soros the dirty Jew, and Hitlery the crook. Nice trio for poor Europe
You are so right Bernard Martoia. Europe has no real walls to protect itself. Europe has flung its gates wide open, and its leaders are shouting to the muslim hordes: ” Please come in, please come in, all is yours!”… We the people are being betrayed by the elites who have sold us for a handfull of petro dollars. The worse of the lot is the pope Francis. You are right to say he was elected in “strange circumstances”. He is probably the worst Pontiff since the Borgia popes. Western Civilisation is in dire straits.
Holy d’Heliopolis-Alexandrie…
Un grand merci pour votre article ; j’aurais appris cla chute de Constantinople, mal étudiée en classe de 5°;
Thank you. It is true that I didn’t remember the Kerkoporta until you brought it back to mind. And how fascinating to discover it all over again. You article arose my interest on the subject, so that I wished to learn more, and more. The following article is a telling description of that battle field.
Your illustrating the modern pope ‘s behavior as it relates to the survival of the Catholic church adds a great dose of irony. In fact, the church is left with no moral compass. I suppose that nothing is new, and all will come again.,
