Greats spirits have always encountered violent opposition of mediocre minds. Albert Einstein

The quote of the German scientist matches the vehement opposition of liberal journalists (1) against professor Didier Raoult. He is ranked number two in the world for his research on emerging communicable diseases. (2) In a nutshell, they reproach him his treatment, which does not include a placebo-controlled arm.

Raoult answered back to Libération newspapers. “If I follow your argument, we select one hundred people, 50 with a parachute and 50 without one. We put them in a plane, drop them, and count the survivors. Is that what you want ?”

In the pandemic period, we are going through, scientists are urged to find treatment quickly. If trial procedures were followed rigorously with three phases, it would take five years before the Food Drug Administration gives its approval to a drug for treating coronavirus.

The double standard of mainstream media

Journalists exact strict obedience of safety rules from maverick Didier Raoult. Anyone can understand their concern for the care of the population.

However, they did not have much interest in mass murders. According to Jihad Watch, which meticulously keeps a log since September 11, 2001, Islamic terrorists have carried out 36594 deadly terror attacks. No less! (3) Since all attacks were perpetrated by Muslims, they should have asked for their quarantine or exclusion from the social entity.

Because the causality defied their utopia, they retaliated with a false syllogism. Since the vast majority of Muslims are not terrorists (true), and the Coran has nothing to do with hate and violence (false), Islam is compatible with Western democracy. (false)

The breeding-ground of the double standard

“Let us begin, therefore, by setting aside all the facts, for they do not touch the question.” Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Discourse on the Origin and Foundations of Inequality Among Men, 1755. (4)

Transposed to the present, the “question” is a world without borders touted by the progressive agenda.

The utopia was born on the rubles of communism with The end of History and the Last Man (5) by Francis Fukuyama in 1992. The book went literally viral among elites. At that time, I was working at the French embassy in Luxembourg. Beyond gaps in reasoning and extrapolation, the vanity of a world ruled on the liberal ideal of Western democracy stunned me.

Samuel Huntington showed the fallacy of the paradigm of Fukuyama in The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order. (6) The end of the Cold War did not mean the end of History but merely the end of communism. The ideological divide would soon be replaced by a clash of civilizations in which the religious substratum would take precedence over all other considerations. Because his paradigm defied political correctness on American campuses, he was set ablaze by his peers, the intelligentsia, and journalists.

The attack on the World Trade Center validated the paradigm of Huntington and invalidated the one of Fukuyama.

Nonetheless, the progressive agenda remained on track. Supranational organization as UN or European Union as a textbook were the Graal.

Since logic still contradicted their paradigm, liberals resorted to Austrian philosopher Karl Popper. The latter rejected the scientific method based on induction, in favor of empirical falsification. Inspired by Rousseau, he said that since empirical sciences can never be proven, it can be falsified. As he was opposed to the justification of knowledge and critic, he resorted to critical rationalism. In his view, the advance of scientific knowledge was an  evolutionary process. History evolves according to knowledgeable general laws towards a determinate end. That’s pure madness!

French philosopher Henri Bergson coined the term open society in 1932. A close society was static and religious. He inferred that if all traces of civilization and religion were to disappear, the instincts of excluding aliens would remain. The solution was an open and dynamic society resorting to moral universalism. Henceforth the ideology of human rights with hundreds of non-governmental organizations financed by billionaire George Soros.

The utopia matched the Edenic paradise mocked in Candid: or the optimist by Voltaire. (7) Despite an earthquake, which wiped Lisbon, Portugal, wars, and many other catastrophes, Professor Pangloss always professed to his naïve student Cunegond: “All is for the best in the best of possible worlds.”

There were only two issues, which should be addressed : fighting extreme-right and anthropogenic global warming.

However, the facts were stubborn. After the slaughter at the Bataclan, Paris, Le Monde newspaper published the letter of Antoine Leris, who lost his wife. The manifesto was, “You will never get my hate.” (8) To fight Islamic terrorists, Parisians were invited to light candles and drop flowers where innocent people had been killed. No prayers, please, since liberals do not believe in God!

On February 27th, 2020, French President Emmanuel Macron met Italian Prime Minister Guiseppe Conte in Naples. Interviewed by Agence France Press, he declared : “Coronavirus does not carry a passport and does not know those administrative boundaries, which constitute borders.” End of story!

Again, it was another sophistry rehearsed by the progressive mantra when the pandemic was reaching Europe. If the coronavirus does not possess a passport and does not know borders (true), it does not travel abroad without a human carrier. Hence the urgent need to close the borders.

Blinded by his ideal, Macron let open the frontiers with our Transalpin neighbor, whereas the latter scrambled to close them while sending Carabinieri to the Maddalena Pass. Jausiers, where I live, is 15 miles from the border.

When the pandemic reached Europe and USA, the progressive slogan “You will never get my hate” was hastily replaced by “You have got my fear of coronavirus.” Millions of people living in big cities, such as Paris and New York, are fleeing like rats in the countryside, where they will carry the coronavirus.

What could not undo more than 36,000 terrorist attacks in the last twenty years, a virus is on the verge to eradicate the poisonous utopia.

The Bible is a reminder of the vanity and sophistry of the progressive agenda

“At one time, all the people of the world spoke the same language [English] and used the same words. [political correctness] As the people migrated to the East, they found a plain in the land of Babylonia and settled there.

They began saying each other, “Let’s make bricks and harden them with fire.” Then they said, “Come, let’s build a great city for ourselves with a tower that reaches into the sky [the race for the highest skyscraper in the world] This will make us famous and keep us from being scattered all over the world.

But the Lord came down to look at the city and the tower the people were building. “Look!” he said. “The people are united, and they all speak the same language. After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them! Come, let’s go down and confuse the people with different languages. Then they won’t be able to understand each other.” [progressive and conservative people]

In that way, the Lord scattered them all over the world [progressive people are fleeing the mega-cities and taking shelter in the countryside], and they stopped building the city. [open society] That is why the city was called Babel, because that is where the Lord confused the people with different languages. In this way, he scattered them all over the world. [with red necks, deplorable people, and bigots]”

Yesterday, the  great visual experience was to fly over a vast city and look down into the night. It was like a jubilant Christmas tree. You just felt life was worth living. When you came down, you might have some doubts.
